Double door traps will allow the beaver to see through the trap so they don't perceive it as a hazard. Be sure to cover the bottom of the trap with dirt, wood chips, vegetation or other natural material so they are not able to feel the metal mesh.

I am demonstrating the beaver float set at the Idaho Trappers Association Convention, I think in 1988 or 89. The tip of the V is held together from the underside with a 2X6 cut to fit and nailed on the bottom, this also supports the scent mound on the front of the float and the anchor wire is also attached to it.
