To have a decent chance at becoming a barrister, you need good A levels. It doesn't matter what subjects you take, except that you would be well advised to avoid less academic subjects. Doing one A level in Art, Music or Drama is fine, but the rest should be solid, academic subjects.

I even did a post about it, which was a bit vague, because I wasn’t convinced about his methods. ... I am training to become a barrister. Don't worry about the public speaking. Nobody on my law degree had done it before. It's like anything, the more you practise the better you become. The thought of standing up in a courtroom and even opening my mouth used to terrify me but now it is second nature.

You should know that you don't actually have to study law at university to become a lawyer.
