His newest, Bedazzled, is simply a limp and lazy comedy that will evoke maybe three or four mild laughs. If you're lucky. Branden Fraser will never be accused of trying to 'stretch' as an actor. In role after role, he seems content to play the goofy nice guy and he nearly destroys every movie he's in.

For a film about the devil, Bedazzled's script isn't nearly devilish enough. If I want moral lessons, I'll go watch Sesame Street, thanks. This movie needed less preaching and more punch.

Bedazzled was their biggest break so far and Cook was determined to get it right - so determined, in fact, that he resolved to write the script alone, without any interference from his pint-sized partner. Logically, this should not have made much difference.
