A Bode plot is a graph of the logarithm of the transfer function of a linear, time-invariant system versus frequency, plotted with a log-frequency axis, to show the system's frequency response. It i...

The first task when drawing a Bode diagram by hand is to rewrite the transfer function so that all the poles and zeros are written in the form (1+s/ω0). The reasons for this will become apparent when deriving the rules for a real pole.

Tutorial by Tom Bullock on Bode diagrams. ... A Bode diagram, like the one shown below, helps to quantify how well the output, or feedback (F), follows the command (C) by showing the relationship between A and the frequency of excitation. The frequency is normally expressed in radians/sec.

Worked Bode Diagram Example Problem. Sketch the Bode diagram for the following transfer function: G(s) = s2 + 101s + 100 . s2 + 4s + 100 Solution. First, compute the zeros and poles. The third term j 10 2 1 + 2(0.2) j 10 . +1 represents a complex conjugate pair of poles with damping ratio = 0.2 and natural frequency n =
