[Archive] Freiburger's Bore vs Stroke article!! Performance ... Case in point -- the Chevy 305 vs the Chevy 302. ... Both the Chevy 302 and Ford 302 have a 4.00 x 3.00 bore/stroke dimension. But I think the Ford uses shorter rods. But that's easy enough to change. If we're talking small block headed combos, the Chevy has...

bore:stroke ratio is something that I'd like to discuss, hopefully some people out there are willing... here's some tidbits of knowledge that I can share with ya: When bore is greater than stroke, the engine is called oversquare I think.

Hi, I have a question regarding stroke vs bore for a given displacement. I think that having a larger bore and shorter stroke will create larger low end torque vs a smaller bore and longer stroke. The reason I think is this is that the larger bore will have a bigger explosion/hammer so torque is bigger.

Volvo RWD 120-130 Forum B20 rebuild, stroke vs. bore? 120-130 ... B20 rebuild, stroke vs. bore? 120-130 ... I used a slight dish on the piston, & a b20F head with out any real changes in combustion CC. I actually did some thumbnail calcs, and since I brought the piston up .011" up out of the bore, that actually negated most,

I don't recall hearing that term before, or any real discussion of friction with regards to long vs. short stroke - although piston speed is sometimes discussed. ... Because the shorter stroke 396 actually has more surface area swept by the piston, 74.98in^2 vs. 74.65in^2 for ... Re: Another volley in the stroke vs. bore war...

The motor has an excellent bore to stroke ratio: 1.26-1 (similar to 327” SBC, better than 340). The short stroke allows high RPM without destructive piston speed (7100 RPM = 4000 ft./min., the accepted “safe” limit for piston stress). ... Stroke vs. Rod Length in Common Automotive Engines...
