Why does my engine hesitate? ... Question: 1985 Olds Delta 88 307 mileage: 129,000. My car has had problems accelerating. It seems to be doing fine when I am around town but when I get to the interstate, that is when it does not go and seems like it is missing or something.

I've never had any problems with my car, change the engine oil frequently, check fluids often, etc. In the past two weeks, when accelerating, my car hesitates, it kind of feels jumpy, or hoppy.

My car (A 93 Saturn) Hesitates when I step on the gas, but it only does it sometimes and usally when I first start it and pull out of the driveway. It ... Its normal, nothing to worry about. I think whats happening is your flooding the engine with gas faster than it can burn it causing it to stall/hesitate.

this is a problem that i have in two cars...changed plugs in both, wires, even the cat conv in one...those r reasons ive been told cause the car to hesitate. any others? its the hesitation when steppin on the gas pedal, or the car "shrugs" when it deccelerates or under sudden acceleration after a constant speed.plz help.
