The car starts very well, hot or cold, idles pretty good when cold however pretty rough when hot. The idle when the car is sitting still is about 550 RPM, but if I let the car roll in neutral 5-10 MPH down hill, the idle jumps to about 2000 without touching the accelerator (note - it also smoothes out).

Car has trouble starting, idles rough and when given gas, dies. PLEASE HELP!! 2nd Generation Specific (1986-1992) ... and also how's your tps. i'm having troubles with that right now and the car idles a little rough and when it's not hooked up the car will start and not really idle and it will die out at 1500 rpm.

[JCR - 2000/9/22] When I bought my car ('91 with 88,000 miles) it had a rough idle, so I talked to a friend who has his own auto repair business ... I did this, then started the car and it idled just fine. That was almost 18 months ago and it still idles smoothly, although I've only driven about 6000 miles in that time...
