You might want to check if it is actually the engine that is idling roughly (inconsitently) or if it's engine shake caused by bad engine mounts. I had a similar problem that was finally traced to worn engine mounts. ... my car shakes in idle, not violently though...

Same as the many, the car shakes when idling. I shift into neutral to cut the vibes, but it still idles low and sputters. The car is my mother's. She is in her late 70's, babies the thing and is far from a demanding driver.

Hey guys, when my car is at idle it seems to shake a little like the idle is rough. The car is an 01 SS with 60,000. Car has been seafoamed, MAF cleaned, new plugs, wires, pcv, fuel filter etc all within the past 4 months.
