UC home and landscape guidelines for control of Carpet Beetle. On rugs and carpets, closely inspect areas beneath heavy furniture and along carpet edges for infestation. Spray both sides of infested carpet if at all possible. Apply a lighter spray to the upper surface so that the possibility of staining is reduced.

Vacuuming upholstered furniture, carpets and carpet pads (especially edges of carpets and near mop boards), and hard to reach areas under furniture may also lessen the degree of an infestation. Do not overlook lint in isolated areas like heat ducts and attics.

Apply the spray to baseboards, closet corners, and carpet edges. If the infestation is heavy, loosen and turn back the carpet edges and spray both sides. Since some chemicals can stain certain carpets, always test chemicals on a small inconspicuous part of the carpet before extensive spraying.
