On the subject of faeces, it is interesting to note that some pythons seem only to defecate following the shedding of their skins. I have in the past had a male Royal (Ball) Python (Python regius) who would eat so much I thought he was about to burst; ... This same phenomena can be witnessed in the Carpet pythons.

I have a 3 yr old male jungle carpet python that I bought in Jan. He shed at ... Snakes have a habit of just not eating. If he seems to still be active I would not worry. I know there are some snakes out there (ball pythons for example) that will just not eat and they will refuse food for a month and then will eat again.
