Cascading switches is a way of adding more ports to an existing switch that run out of ports. This is good for connecting two or more batches of computers that are located far from each other. In this article, we will show two example of switch, which are EZXS55W and EZXS16W.

Hello, I'm trying to understand how switches work and Iw as hoping somebody could explain something to me, please? I understand that a switch basically isolates all nodes attached to it and forwards data on to each by MAC address.

This may be hardware failure (so you get spare power supplies, redundant blades in routers/switches, run HSRP between routers), or it may be software failure ; (some nitwit with a virus flooding the network with ARP requests) ;

A cascading switch is a good way to go (or using a power passing dual tap). I personally had one mechanical switch and one solid state and I wanted the solid state inside the house as a second distribution point and did not want to purchase a second switch (cascading) for the outside.

I want an 8 port cascading multi-switch where the 2 switches can be separated by about 40 feet. Any ideas? I couldn't find "STV" if they are a manufacturer. I've been told that if I use 2 of the 8 ports on the 3 X 8 switch to feed another switch, the 2 switches must be close together( 1-2 feet).
