It seems curious that nobody is asking who got the money after the check was stopped. If the client still has an account at the bank and money is still in the account, would it not be an easy matter to track down his whereabouts? ... ANSWER: In general, if your bank is returning a customer's check on which payment is stopped, you must send it back by midnight of the banking day following the banking day of presentment. If a cashiers check is being rightfully returned, the same timeframe would apply.

I'd ask them to explain the similarities and differences between a cashiers check in the US and a certified bank draft. I would have them especially clarify whether the instrument can be stopped or otherwise revoked once issued.

Mind you they told me when cashing the check that it was o.k. and cashiers checks cannot be stopped or cancelled. Other wise I would not have cashed it just incase it was fraud.
