All box traps i've seen have small throats or entries whichever you choose to call them.An will not allow a very large fish to enter.I have run a lot of wooden slat traps that we caught, "fiddlers" or small catfish in so named fiddler trap.Have some small hoopnets with 1.5" mesh that will wear them out;
