Then while I was talking to him, out of the blue, he started to hiss and growl at me. A growl that what sound like to me, was staying "GET AWAY FROM ME, I DON'T LIKE YOU". I also, have a cat of my own, which is female but they haven't ... it sounds real to me. i mean, cats do growl but my daughter thinks it's added in.

After Bootsie came in the house, Tygre took one smell of her and began to growl and hiss at her. Bootsie now growls and hisses at Tygre. Cats are vocal creatures. They will express feelings using vocalizations. The meow, growl and hiss. Growling and hissing are warnings to others that the cat is angry and getting ready for a confrontation. For cats, this is the preferred method to actual combat.

Do feral cats kill a lot of birds? ... I can't touch the cats, so how can I get them to the vet for spaying/neutering? ... The cat will most likely feel threatened and will growl, hiss, or even lunge at you through the bars of the trap.
