Marmosets, tamarins, and Goeld's marmosets are now considered part of the family Cebidae, in the subfamily Callitrichinae, but that group was previously considered its own family, Callitrichidae. The monotypic genus Callimico has sometimes been assigned to its own family, Callimiconidae.
