Know the significance of the following titles/names/terms: dream vision, Guillaume de Lorris, Jean de Meun, the Romance of the Rose, ... Chaucer knew the Romance of the Rose well, and admired it enough to translate parts of it into English (NA 211). By so doing, he demonstrated that he too was a translatio poet.
