Chondrolaryngoplasty is performed under local anesthesia. The amount of excised thyroid cartilage is 2.0 to 2.4 cm in length and 0.6 to 1.2 cm in width on each side. In 3 cases, mild hoarseness is observed postoperatively and it is very transient, lasting less than 20 days.
