The Clumber Spaniel Club was founded in 1904 with a membership of forty enthusiasts. It was, however, not officially recognised by the Kennel Club until the 1920 Stud Book listed the Club in its pages. Today membership is around 350 with members from across the UK and around the world.

The Clumber Spaniel (to the right is Ch Topvalley Charlie of Belcrum) is very different from the rest of the spaniels and probably does not share any common ancestry.
