Someone once told me that coasting in neutral would burn up the fluid, but I really dont see how that could happen. Also, what aboutin MT vehicles? I believe they are all splash oiled, so I have to wonder if anything gets lubed when rolling in neutral.

Does a car use any more gas while coasting in gear compared to coasting in neutral? Off-topic Discussion ... My view is less gas is being used if you are coasting in gear down a hill than if you are in neutral coasting down a hill. Am I correct on this assumption?
