Our family has an 8 month old American Cocker Spaniel and he's getting quite Shaggy... his hair is easily matted and tangled. We are going to get his hair cut for the spring but we are not sure exactley what cut ... I wish more people realized that taking their puppy to a groomer does not mean the pup HAS to have a HAIRCUT!!

If you have never groomed an English Cocker before, it might be good to take your dog for its first haircut to a professional groomer. That way you will have a pattern to follow when you begin grooming yourself.

We recommend hair shed and matts be removed before bathing the Cocker Spaniel, and that it be hand fluff-dried with a professional force blow dryer. Your type of bathing and drying equipment will affect the way in which you groom the dog.
