In 1982, the new Commodore 64 became the best selling computer in history. Like its predecessor, the 64 came without a monitor, but had 64K RAM, and featured a sound synthesizer chip. Developed by Bob Yannes, the Sound Interface Device was the first audio chip made for a home computer.
