I would like to get a new laptop but now I see AMD has a kick ass Turion CPU and I would like to know how does it compare with the Intel Centrino. I like my current ... In acctual physical testing against non-synthetic (3DMark is a synthetic test) the differances in non-multithreading processors is minimal at best.

I agree with several other posters - I don't see what the point of this article is with respect to laptop processors. No one would ever set up a laptop this way, so what is the point? Myself, like some others would prefer that a comparison be done on laptop performance. ... you cant compare a laptop to desktop pc,

Laptop computer processors are very different from their desktop counterparts. The primary reason for this is the limited amount of power they have to run on when the laptop is not plugged into an outlet. The less power that the laptop uses, the longer the system should be able to run for off the battery.
