He received compassionate reassignment to the Air Force base close to my house while this was cleared up. It was compassionate assignment because he could not perform regular duties and needed to see doctors so the Army had compassion ... Also, you might want to re-think about the information you are putting in your letter.

Compassionate reassignment is initiated by the Soldier. DA Form 3739 must be completed and submitted through the chain of command. First, the Soldier must write a letter of explanation detailing the situation. The letter must include the location requested and a full description of the reasons the request should be granted.

Compassionate Reassignment requests need a DA Form 3739 signed by the Company Commander, a letter/memo from the Soldier, as well as from the Company Commander, and anyone in the chain of command who wishes to endorse the request.
