Deism has no tenets, no dogma. There is nothing to memorize, no hymns, no prayer necessary. Wikipedia is not necessarily a good source for all subjects, but the Deism page there is not bad. There are many flavors of Deism: Classical, Modern, Christian, Panendeism, and the list goes on.

There is no one founder of deism, as the concepts and ideas have been around for much longer than the 1600's. The only thing the "founder" adds is confusion by having concepts that really don't make much sense together.
