The Cook County Department of Corrections, Division XI, Maximum Security Facility (jail) houses approximately 1,600 inmates in 800 cells. This new jail complex is a maximum security facility located on approximately 17.5 acres, on the northeast corner of California and 31st Boulevards, in the City of Chicago.

Springfield - May 13, 2009 - Taylorville Correctional Center reached another major milestone by constructing walls for its 150th house for Habitat for Humanity. The house will become the new home for a family in McLean County.
