I live in a townhouse that seems to have a problem with cooling the upstairs. I have to turn the AC really low to get any kind of cooling up here. I talk to my father about it and made a very interesting point.

The kids' bedrooms are on the front of the house (2nd floor), so we don't want unsightly window a/c units. Ceilings are too low for ceiling fans. There's an attic above. The unit does not cool upstairs when temp goes over 90-ish. This year I pulled the lid and cleaned my inner and outer coils which were dirty, but this did not help either.
