Bob, In response to your message – I have 2 series of cortizone shots in my back. The first had no adverse effect but after the second one, I began experiencing the feeling of a pounding chest and speeded up breathing & feeling like my metabolism had speeded up.

Has anyone had any experience with cortizone shots and their effects? I had a herniated disk recently and got a shot about 3 months ago. My BG went haywire!! My daytime numbers have gotten back to normal, but that was the start of me having high fasting numbers and they have NOT returned to normal yet.

My doctor gave me a cortizone injection into the muscle(which was knotted up) and then electrical stimulation for a couple of weeks. It eventually relaxed but it always feels slightly knotted.

I recently had several cortizone shots in my foot in a span of approx. 10 weeks. Almost a week after the last shot I began spotting (and have been continuing to do so for the past 6 days). I freaked out and called my OB/GYN who has me scheduled for an endometiral biopsy.
