I also am stumped on the "crepitance" that they dictate, and since that is not really a word, I either reword it to say, "I heard no crepitation.", or change it to "There was no crepitus." In Tabers, crepitus can mean (1) noise of gas in the intestine, or (2) crepitation - either joint or redux.
