Is there anyone out there who has gone through the process of drilling out the plug to adjust air mixture screw? I have taken all the steps I know of to CURE the backfiring on deceleration but to no avail. Tightened all exhaust fitting and carb air intake sleeves on the carb.

What would cause backfiring of the second carb? I am trying ... A backfire through a carb can mean a lean condition. Check your jets for clogs and your float height. Any changes to the intake? ... Thus getting erratic spark. The best set up is having the box between the coil and the distributor with the wires running in separate directions against the firewall.
