Micki, is a male dog tick, Dermacentor sp. i want to say this is a Dermacontor andersoni, but i cant say definetely. the other possibility would be Dermacentor variablis. D. variablis and D. andersoni unlike their relatives the Ixodes sp. do NOT transmit Lyme disease and are not really considered serious pests.
