Thread: Help setting up Comcast DVR, DVD player, and an old TV ... I just bought a DVD player and I am trying to hook it up to an old tv that has one "coaxial connector", which is already hooked up to a Comcast box. The Comcast box I have is a regular box, not this Comcast DVR I've read about above.

I've tried every which way I can think of and nothing works??? ... I have an antenna plugged to the DTV converter, the red, white, yellow wires on both ends plugged to tv and dvd, and the coaxial wire plugged to the tv, does it need to be on a special channel, I have looked at the book and STILL can't figure this out!!!

DVD Player and Television:; DVD Player, TV with no A/V inputs, and RF modulator. Alternate diagram below adds a VCR. The DVD and VCR signals are kept separate because passing the DVD player's signal through the VCR will cause the Macrovision copy protection to kick in, ruining the picture.

Not really. You can easily put the TiVo into stand-by and it will keep recording but pass the RF to the TV. Just like the old TV/VCR button on a VCR. ... what about this kind of setup with a cable box ? I have the diagram from the TIVO webite, but that has a VCR. I don’t have a vcr. I have a cable box, dvd, tv, a/v box...
