In my mind the there’s no confusion at all between confidence and arrogance and I can say, hand on heart, that not one person I’ve coached has become arrogant. This dilemma has led me over the years to contemplate the difference between confidence and arrogance. The old fear of appearing conceited has tainted my self-confidence in a way that when I really feel good about myself and my work, I feel like I'm slipping into arrogance and that I will offend others.

As for the difference between confidence and arrogance; arrogance is, necessarily, something expressed to others, while confidence need not be. Arrogance involves putting yourself above others, claiming to be better than others, while confidence does not necessarily make any claims about the ability of others.
