A Comforter is smaller than a Quilt or blanket and usually stuffed with feathers. A Duvet is a cover for a comforter. Quilts are/were made from "left over"fabric.That was pieced together. I think you know what a blanket is.

If you are having a hard time finding a king size duvet, try asking for a king comforter. The technical difference between a duvet and a comforter is that duvets have removable covers, while comforters do not. You will be warm and cozy whether it has a removable cover or not.
