Diffraction - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Diffraction is normally taken to refer to various phenomena which occur when a wave encounters an obstacle. It is described as the apparent bending of waves around small obstacles and the spreading o...

Diffraction formalism - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Because diffraction is the result of addition of all waves (of given wavelength) along all unobstructed paths, the usual procedure is to consider the contribution of an infinitesimally small neighborh...

B) The first shows interference and the second shows only diffraction. ... With both slits open we get an interference pattern, exactly as if we had light waves (or photons!). Doing one slit at a time leads to diffraction patterns of a single slit. The fact that the total time during which the slits are open is equal is...

Hi, A senior colleague of mine from the north-eastern US mentioned that back in his student days (70s), he had attended an intriguing talk about a computational result in diffraction. They showed that ... seeking reference to an old diffraction result V. Guruprasad Physics - General Discussion 3 September 23rd 03 11:27 PM...

Diffractive photoproduction of high p_t photons at HERA ... The process gamma p -> gamma Y in which the outgoing photon has transverse momentum p_t (gamma) > 2 GeV and there is a large rapidity gap between the proton dissociative system Y and the outgoing photon is studied for the first time with the H1 detector at HERA.

Size of crystallites strongly influences diffraction peak profiles, especially in range of nanometers. In present work we show that classical methods of determination of the average crystallite size from peak width (Scherrer method) or shape (Warren-Averbach method) are accurate only for monodispersive powders.
