I am installing a gas clothes dryer and associated vent duct. The standard is 4 inch metal rigid duct, but I already have a large amount of 6 inch metal duct in my possession. I will need to run approx. 8 feet of 4 inch duct ... What do I do with the old ground wire that is connected from inside the dryer? Disconnect it?

Inspect the lint trap when a clothes dryer takes too long to dry clothes. Remove any lint, and try again. Even if your lint trap is clean, lint may clog the vent. Disconnect electric dryers or turn off the gas for gas dryers before removing the air duct hose from the back of the dryer.

Don't feel : like filling the garage with natural gas...so I thought I'd ask : the all-knowing collective Mira brain. it's not like there's a ton of gas in that line... Open your garage door, disconnect the dryer, remove it, and you should be fine.

Most gas dryers use only 110 current to run the drum to circulate the clothes. You can disconnect from that expensive 220 current. If you have kids or even have a big family, consider drying your clothes with a gas clothes dryer.
