Ejection fraction (EF) is a measurement of how well the heart is pumping. It represents a percentage of the total blood volume in the left ventricle that is pumped (ejected) with each beat of the heart. As with any pump not all of the liquid is pumped out with each cycle.

Ejection fraction - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In cardiovascular physiology, ejection fraction ( E f ) is the fraction of blood pumped out of a ventricle with each heart beat. The term ejection fraction applies to both the right and left ...

Left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) with 4 different algorithms (biplane and single-plane Simpson's rule and ellipsoid area-length method) was measured by 2-dimensional echocardiography (2 DE) in 42 patients with myocardial infarction (MI), and the results were compared with those with equilibrium...

Ejection fraction is a measurement of the capacity at which your heart is pumping. ... Because the left ventricle is the heart's main pumping chamber, ejection fraction is usually measured only in the left ventricle (LV). A normal LV ejection fraction is 55 to 70 percent. The ejection fraction may decrease if your heart...

Left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) is an important parameter in the assessment of cardiac mortality and morbidity. ... Those who underwent angiography and either echocardiography or SPECT using technetium (Tc)-sestamibi for measurement of LVEF were selected. Patients were excluded from this study if testing by...
