I have done a google search and there are at least 3 other blogs out there completely dedicated towards Emigrant Direct complaints, so as I said, you appear to be one of a small group that got it to work.

It sounded good, so I did more web research, like typing in the name and seeing what I found on the web related to Emigrant Direct. If you have a personal finance program like Money or ... Never had to call customer service either with ING or Emigrant in the past year so I won't comment on that. No complaints from me...

Just wanted to say I have used Emigrant Direct for over a year and have had no complaints. It is still amazing to me how many people stick with their home-town bank savings account that is earning them less than 1%.

Recently, I was finally tempted to open an Emigrant Direct account because they’re a full half-point higher right now (4.0 vs. 4.5). I’ve read all the complaints about Emigrant, but said what the heck. I only deposited $5.oo initially with them just to “feel them out”.
