So, how much should you spend on it? ... Yep, you just have to suck it up and spend the money on a decent ring. When I got engaged about 10 years ago, I ended up spending about 2 weeks salary on an engagement ring with a 2/3 carat diamond. I only would have spent 2 months salary if I was marrying someone like Elizabeth Taylor.
