Enzyme concentration does not alter the enzyme activity per se though. Enzyme concentration affects the rate of the reaction. In optimal conditions, if you double the concentration of enzyme, you should double the speed at which the reaction occurs.

In a typical enzyme concentration, the rate of reaction increases with increasing substrate concentration to a point above which any further increase in substrate concentration produces negligible change in the reaction rate.

A graph of the relative reaction rate (1/time taken for a colour change to occur) showed that, as the enzyme concentration increased, the reaction rate was faster. This was true up to the point at which the substrate was saturated with enzymes - at this point any higher enzyme concentrations gave no further increase.

THE EFFECT OF ENZYME CONCENTRATION ON ENZYME ACTIVITY AIM: To investigate the effect of a reduction in enzyme concentration on the rate of reaction, in this case the breakdown of protein by protease enzyme. The protein substrate in this reaction will be trypsin milkprotein (casein).
