The Eskimos or Inuit came to Alaska from Asia about 8,000 years ago. Eskimo means “eaters of raw flesh”, but they prefer Inuit, which means “The real people”. The Inuit live in the sub artic, from Russia to Greenland, across Alaska and Canada.
