Exponential notation can be seen as just a way to write expression like 8x8x8x8 in a more compact form. If you have the same number multiplied by itself a number of times then using the exponential notation you write the number, in your case 8, and then an "exponent" to indicate how many times you multiply 8 by itself.

CodeComments.com is a discussion forum for programmers and webmasters ... Hi, When I operate with complex numbers in Exponential Form, Mathematica yields in complex form. How can I operate with Exponential Form. For example, In: h=a E^(I b)+ c E^(I d) Out: f E^(I g) I tried with Abs[h] E^(Arg[h]) but it does not work Thanks...

The standard form of a complex number is; but this can be shown to be equivalent to the form; which is called the exponential form of a complex number. This form is equivalent to the polar form as well. The equivalence can be shown by using Euler’s formula,

Explains how logarithms relate to exponentials, stressing 'the relationship' between the two. Shows how to convert between logarithmic and exponential forms. ... The value of the subscripted "b" is "the base of the logarithm", just as b is the base in the exponential expression "bx". And, just as the base b in an exponential...
