I'm not going to gloss over the facts - it's very hard for a new writer to break into print with a reputable commercial publisher. It took me five years, three books and countless setbacks, and at times I really considered taking up something less taxing - like bullfighting.

Finding suitable publishers and writing to them - pleasing everybody and nobody ... But all three work as relatively separate entities and the problem for us was to find a publisher who would take the risk of producing something in a new medium for a not so well established market.
