A way to hopefully avoid costly repairs is to flush out your transmission fluid about every 30,000 miles which is generally the recommendation in newer Ford service manuals. This is a good way to prevent torque converter shudder which we know will kick in with these T-Birds around 50,000 miles or sooner.

Hello, I have a 4R70W transmission and I just changed the fluid in the pan and T/C, along with the filter. Just lately it seems that I have a shudder while accelerating from a dead stop. Doesn't happen ... Thot I would update what has happened with my shudder. I took it to the Ford Garage and let them take a look at it.

It can happen with a warm transmission but happens more often when the transmission is cold. The car is still under warranty, but never acts up when I visit the Ford dealer. I have left the car overnight at the dealer and they can't duplicate the shudder.

This adapter uses a 6 liter Ford Power Stroke starter. If your Cummins engine has a standard transmission flywheel now your flywheel bolts will be too long for the new automatic transmission flexplate. You will need new shorter flexplate bolts.
