I've seen so many people wear the beret all wrong. It just looks bad. At least there are fewer variations with a patrol cap. In the 4th Regiment, we have this as a guide. You may recognize the model :-); The biggest problem comes from people not forming the beret properly when they buy it.

Military berets are not designed to be worn off the rack. They must first be shaved and shaped to present the sharpest military image ... Cut the tag off below the beret size lettering. You've done it right if, when you put the beret on, the tag can never show even if it gets flipped over.

You may wish to sew your patch on after forming the beret, as the dye from the beret may soak into your flash. To form your beret, first you must soak it thoroughly in extremely hot water (as hot as your tap will get, do not boil it or anything), then wring it out and place it on your head.
