G95 is a stable, production Fortran 95 compiler available for multiple cpu architectures and operating systems. Innovations and optimizations continue to be worked on. Parts of the F2003 standard have been implemented in g95.

There are a number of free Fortran 77 and 90 compilers available on the net. The one I have been using in my Fortran courses at York is GNU, which implements Fortran 77 and adds several Fortran 90 features.

To install it, create a new folder on your hard drive and call it Fortran. Download the four files above (simply right-click each and choose Save Target As...) and place them in this new folder under their default names.
