Gam-Anon is a 12 Step, self-help program for the family members, friends and loved ones of compulsive gamblers who have been affected by the gambling problem. Through meetings and literature, members share their experiences dealing with these problems, and problem solving suggestions based upon these experiences are given.

There is an organization called Gamblers Anonymous that is similar to Alcoholics Anonymous and yet another for drug addiction. Gambling is another recognized addiction which can be treated, and if not can result in the impoverishment of families, loss of employment, and failure of businesses.
