Gemini Spacecraft was a two-man spacecraft. Plans that a U.S. two-man spacecraft would be designed were revealed on Dec. 7, 1961. One month later, on Jan. 3, 1962, "Gemini" was introduced. The Gemini program took its name from the two-star constellation of Castor and Pollux.
