There's a great deal of regional pride, which is true for a lot of areas (Texas, anyone?), but the Geordies (Newcastle-ites) have an odd way of expressing their pride: Real Geordies, it seems, never wear coats.

The Geordies are a great set of people and as long as ya dinit try t be all "la di da" with them their great. Well better not mention Sunderland if your anywhere near a true Geordie as it really is a true saying that the Geordies hate the mackums and the Mackums hate the Geordies especially when it comes to football.
