I use the KJV bible and am really curious as to why God told Adam and Eve to go forth and "replenish" the earth. If they were the beginning, how can they replenish something that wasn't there to start with? If you replenish something, you are building it back up to what it was to start with.

But Eve couldn't refute Adam's irrefutable logic, she indeed couldn't replenish the Earth all by herself, -- no way. And further, just how much of this begatting did she really want to go along with, for the job wasn't exactly without its downside, you know.

Now lets compare this to the origins of Babylon. After the flood, the Lord commanded the people to go forth and replenish the earth. His intent was for the tribes that would be descended from Noah to spread over the face of the earth.

It is also relavent to point out that Adam and Eve were instructed to go forth and replenish the earth. Something has to be plenished before if it is to be re-plenished.

3) Human Government … from Noah to the Tower of Babel. After the Flood, God allowed man to establish his first system of government. But the people disobeyed God’s commandment to go forth and replenish the Earth, setting about instead to build a great city and a tower to protect themselves from another flood.

The command of God to Noah and to his sons was for them to go forth and replenish the entire earth. It was stated again in Genesis 9:7. In other words, GOD WANTED THEM TO SPREAD OUT, and to GO FORTH and spread over the entire earth.

Jesus did not say that, The father did in the beginning, when he did in deed tell Adam and Eve to go and make babies and populate the earth. Jesus said, Go into all the world, ... I thought God said to "go forth and multiply"in Genesis in order to "replenish the Earth". Which begs the question: who was here before ?
