You can grow slicing or pickling cucumbers as upside down vegetables, but pickling cucumbers will be the easier of the two choices. Avoid using bush cucumbers as they will have a hard time growing using this method.

RE: Upside-down growing ... I grew both this year in these pouches (each got their own pouch mind you) I let the cucumbers cascade over the edge of their pouches and they did great, but since there is already a drain hole in the bottom, you can plant them through that.

I don't know about growing carrots upside down, but you can take about 1 1/2 inches of that carrot and hollow out a little bit. Run a needle with some thread or fishing line through it like a little bucket handle. ... RE: Growing tomatos upside down!!! & growing pineapples.

This Is My UpSideDown Garden it had been set up for just over two months it has cucumbers, tomatoes, lettuce, carrots, zucchini, male eggplant, long beans, Chinese pea pods ... how much better is the yeild upside down??.Ive always wanted to give growing upside down a shot just kinda sketch about the whole idea.
